Batman Joker Crochet Doll

joker batman crochet patternI’ve been considering for a while doing a range of crochet dolls, being an avid Batman fan (Go Batman!!) I decided to focus on all the friends and foes of Gotham. As I love Joker (the twisted thing) I went with Joker first.

Now have any of you completed a project just to begin the entire project again as you’re not happy? Well I do it all the time, so after I crocheted one Joker doll I then started another straight away. Once they were both completed though I didn’t have a clue which I prefered.

Lalylala Doll Kira

lalylala doll kira

As my mum’s birthday is coming up I wanted to make her something special, she’s allergic to everything, doesn’t drink and her usual answer when asked what she wants is ‘nothing’. Really, she’s hard to get presents for. But she does love cute looking toys, and as I love happy crocheting along I bought a Lalylala Kira Doll Pattern from Ravely and away I went.

Mario Free Crochet Pattern Afghan Star Blanket

Mario Afgan Star Blanket

Another free pattern from Happy Crocheting! Here is my Mario Free Crochet Pattern Afghan Star Blanket!

I always find it hard to find gifts to crochet for men. As Christmas was coming up I wanted to make something for my lovely boyfriend, but didn’t have a clue what to do. That is until I found this amazing Afghan Star Blanket! I thought I could use the star pattern to become the star from Mario – as he grew up spending many hours playing Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World and of course Mario Kart (which he still plays with me on the Wii). It’s a difficult pattern to read but 4 rows in it begins to flow and grows really fast. Part way through I decided I would create a little character icon for each of the points on the star (I did these all freehand, but if anyone wants a free crochet pattern for them please drop me an email and I’ll write them up). Fingers crossed he’ll like it – I will update on his response.

Stewie from Family Guy Crochet Toy

Stewie Griffin Family Guy Crochet Toy

Happy New Year Happy Crocheting peeps. I finally finished my last Christmas present (sadly on Jan 19th). I crocheted a little Stewie Griffin from Family Guy crochet toy for my nephew, it was suppose to go with the dvd boxset of Family Guy I had bought him. He loves Stewie Griffin.

I did this doll freehand, but hopefully if you want to recreate him the picture might help you with were to start. Even though its freehand I still like to post what I have been working on here at Happy Crocheting. So here is Stewie from Family Guy crochet toy.

Until my next post (Laly Lala Doll!) Happy Crocheting!

Free Adventure Time Crochet Hair Bows

Adventure Time Bows

As an avid lover of Adventure Time I was over the moon when I introduced it to my niece and she loved it. Since then whenever I babysit her we both snuggle on the couch and watch Finn and Jake on TV. Last Christmas I crocheted a massive BMO for her, throughout the year it’s been getting tatty, but it just means it’s been cuddled on a regular basis. So this Christmas I decided to make her some Adventure Time hairclips. She loves all the characters, especially Fiona and Cake, but due to the colour schemes I wanted to use for the bows I decided on Peppermint Butler (Red, Blue and White), Marceline (Purple and Slate Grey) and Princess BubbleGum (Pink, pink and more pink). I thought I’d share them with you guys on Happy Crocheting.

Merry Christmas From Happy Crocheting

Merry Christmas fellow Crocheters!

I hope you’ve all managed to finish all you’re presents. I’ve completed all bar one and as I fell down stairs yesterday hurting my arm I won’t be able to finish it. I did luckily get to finish this lovely Snowman for my Mum’s gift. Here he is with Heidi Bears Hippopotamus. I wish I had time to make the background of Happy Crocheting more christmassy – well I’ll have to wait till next year.

Beautiful Granny Square Cushion

Bright colourful Crochet Cushion

Hope you’re all Happy Crocheting, I have been crocheting all weekend. My friend was round one night having a glass or two (bottles!) of wine with me and she was eyeing up my crochet yarn stash. It’s starting to resemble a massive colourful beanbag in the corner of my living room lately. Anyway she started selecting the colours she liked, which were all bright and in your face. She asked if I could make a cushion for her out of them, in my tipsy state I said ‘of course!’ The morning after when I saw the colours chosen I didn’t have a clue how I could crochet  something that didn’t look garish! I did some searching on the web and came across a lovely little granny square cushion that had been made using african flower granny squares, then another quick search to find a granny square pattern I liked and away I went.
